This house screams out with the best of Northern California Modern: The late mid-century modern design and organic elements create a warm and nostalgic interior. One of the biggest challenges for us was to meet this house's uncommonly large scale and open floor plan. The built-in bookcase of large, equal-sized rectangles covers an entire 12-foot wall. They have a high gloss spray-lacquer finish. This area now balances the (24 foot tall) opposite wall in the Great Room, which is built from reclaimed antique wood and houses an over-sized honed ledger stone fireplace. The vintage chrome rocking chair and ottoman (c. 1970) were designed by Milo Baughman, as were the pair of "barrel" swivel-chairs, and velvet chrome club chairs all refurbished and reupholstered in luxe fabrics.
