This A-frame home built in 1960 with an amazing view of San Francisco Bay, needed a complete kitchen re-do. We gutted to the studs, removed a back door, designed custom metal windows, and added custom walnut cabinetry, and an integrated stainless steel counter and sink. The counter tops are Carrara marble. We installed under-mount lighting on the floating shelves as well as great task lighting for the two avid cooks in the home. Because of the compact 1700 square-foot floor plan, the owners wanted to increase storage while they had the opportunity. The solid oak built-ins were updated with white lacquer doors. Every available inch in the island was used as well -- the oven, warming drawer and microwave were all housed underneath. The deck was completely re-built using ipe, an exotic, yet sustainable hardwood, and architectural stainless steel cables and posts for the railing.
